Bringing Home A Taste Of Hyderabad

My good friend Lucky Murari got married recently and that took me to his hometown, Hyderabad.

The last time I went to Hyderabad was during my 12th grade when our batch went on a 6 day pleasure trip.

A lot has changed since then. The current state of Telengana was still part of Andra Pradesh. You might find this hard to believe, I disliked travel back then and hated train journeys even more.

Deshadanam 2014 – My Discovery Of India

When it was time to decide upon my career, one of the criteria I had for myself was that I shouldn’t be geographically bound by what I do. Travelling was a priority even then and the biggest of all the travel plans I had ever dreamt of was a journey across India.

( For some of my international readers (at least I like to think so), Malayala Manorama is the largest circulated regional daily news paper in India. )

A Farewell Letter to Cochin

Dear Cochin,

We had a good run, and now the time has come for me to say good bye and move on. We both knew this day would come, unlike what they say in the movies, I deserve better.

I will always remember the sleepless bloody nights where you served me with the best of your mosquitoes. You never left me in the cold, you always made me warm, a bit too much, even in December. You played music with all those traffic on the streets, the honking and the rush, boy! you know what you are doing. You filled my heart with the fragrance of the streets, how could I ever forget you?
