Selected For TATA Jagriti Yatra. Looking for a Sponsor

Last April, I had applied for TATA Jagriti Yatra of this year. And from a pool of over 16,000 applicants, I got selected!

Tata Jagriti Yatra is an annual train journey that that takes hundreds of India’s highly motivated youth (with some participation of international students) between the ages of 20-25 and experienced professionals with age above 25, on a eighteen day national odyssey, introducing them to unsung heroes of India.

The aim is to awaken the spirit of entrepreneurship – both social and economic – within India’s youth by exposing them to individuals and institutions that are developing unique solutions to India’s challenges. Through this national event we have begun to inspire the youth of India to lead and develop institutions both nationally and within their communities.

The cost of the Yatra is Rs. 38,000. I am looking for someone who could sponsor me for the trip. As a freshly passed out college graduate and a wannabe entrepreneur,  my life’s savings are zero. If you could give me the contact of someone who could sponsor me, that would be very helpful.

  7. Hi Arun,

Did you find any sponsors? I am looking out for sponsors. I have been selected for JY 2015. Any suggestions on how to approach sponsors?

    1. Hey Rahul,

I ended up paying for it myself and my Dad helped.

The only people who would invest money in you would be the ones who can benefit from it at some point in life or someone who got the benefit of a sponsor. Approach your college alumni, or your employer.

You can also write to the organizers for sponsorship. If you push hard enough you will at least get part sponsorship.

      Good luck man.

        Hi Arun,
Is it worth the amount you paid? I’m in the same boat and I think I’ll have to end up paying myself since I haven’t gotten a reply from any potential sponsor yet.

        1. Hey Arushi, congrats on being selected. I have an answer for your question here:

I hope you make it 🙂
